ADAM Lockdown Browser Installation Instructions
Q: What is the version # for the ADAM app on Chromebooks?I know how to install the ADAM app on the Chromebook, but I wanted to know if it’s updating itself.
A: The correct version number for the ADAM Chromebook app is v1.1.6. It is the same as last year. The code and functionality are up to date to run the Spring 2023 assessment but the version number has not changed.
Q: Is this correct for iOS version 12.1 to 15.7? Are we OK with iOS 16?
A: The ADAM iOS app is compatible with iOS versions 12.1 and newer, so it is compatible with iOS 16.
Q: If student devices are not on the same network, how should we whitelist those sites?
A: Given the differences in local network configurations, it is best to check with local IT support to determine whitelisting implementation.
Q: Is Ventura not compatible with the browser?
A: Ventura is compatible with the Lockdown browser. Some users were having trouble when trying to package the release for Jamf, but the download from adamexam.com is working for Ventura.
Q: Do proctors need the lockdown browser, or just testers?
A: The Lockdown Browser is only utilized by students when taking the assessment, and is required by all students when taking the assessment. Proctors and administrators do not use the Lockdown Browser to access rostering or test administration functions. Proctors and administrators can access the ADAM assessment platform using any modern web browser via https://adamexam.com.
Q: For Mac OS, will the lockdown browser require any permissions in system preferences to be enabled? If so, is there a configuration profile that can be downloaded to automate the process?
A: Yes, typically a user needs admin rights to the machine before they can download application files. Maine DOE does not plans to create a Jamf configuration profile at this time.
Q: Do you need to first uninstall previous version in order to install the new one?
A: Download and installation of the most up-to-date version of the ADAM Lockdown Browser does not require that previous versions be uninstalled.
Q: It looks like our chromebooks have the v1.1.6 and that is what we used last year. Could they have updated themselves? Ok so I don't need to do anything if that is the case?
A: The correct version number for the ADAM Chromebook app is v1.1.6. It is the same as last year. The code and functionality are up to date to run the Spring 2023 assessment but the version number has not changed.
Q: Which version is required for Mac OS? Same for m1?
A: The MacOS version of the ADAM Lockdown Browser for Spring 2023 is v1.6.2 for both Macs with Intel and M1 chips. There are two different versions of the installs...one for the older intel chips and one for the new Silicon/M series.
